Take copies of your I-94 front and back and then submit them at the airport you board the international flight out of the US. When you come back, you will be filling in a new I-94 based on the latest H1/H4 date which you will show the border officer. (I am only stating this purely when your fly, I don't have experience by land)

Friends, I Received the magic email today!
Yes - I cant believe my eyes, my I-485 has been approved today and card production ordered.
I do have a question: I could not file for my wife's i-485 in July/2007. So, we filed for my wife's application on Aug/01/2008 (Did a overnight express mail on July-31st) as my PD is current as of Aug-1st. So far her application check has not been deposited.
What will happen now? Is she out of status? I am getting really concerned. Gurus help me out?

Your wife is not out of status...you have applied and her official status is 485 applied and status pending. Keep her FedEx receipt handy till you get her official receipt. Dont worry its just 6 days past when you sent her application and there is a huge rush. You will get it soon and check would be encashed soon as well. My experience it takes time to get cash encashment particularly when there is a huge rush.

If one has not maintained his/her prior legal status, countries other than home country will not give the visa. Instead, they would be asked to back to go home country for getting the visa.

My GC was approved last month after a very long wait time. Currently I am working for company B on EAD (not the GC filing employer). The question I had was can I continue to work for company B on a part time basis and join company A (GC filling employer).
Company A has a 9 month probation period I am worried if i quiet company B and company A fire me later then I will be with out job.
So I can work for company A (GC filing employer) full time and at the same time work part time with company B.
So this way if company A does fire me during probation period I continue with company B :confused: on full time basis. Is this ok will it come to haunt me when I file for citizenship?
When you started using EAD, did you file for AC21? If you did not or don't know what AC21 is, you will want to talk to your attorney.

We did submit all these requested I-693 and photos during the initial filing. My question is, does USCIS request for new I-693 if the original one submitted is older than one year or more?
As far as i know medicals are valid for 2 1/2 years.
Answer to your next question is, there could be many possibilities.
1. USCIS might have lost your original 693
2. There could be something which is not clear in the original 693 etc

You can bind them quite easily, assuming your data sources implement the correct interfaces (I believe IBindable/IBindableList).
You would use the metadata table to fill the list for the combobox and then bind the list to the 'degree' fields on your persons table
There are numerous ways to actually accomplish this, I'll run through a straight forward method using the datasource wizard
1. Drop a combobox onto the page
2. Go to the 'Data Sources' window which is usually docked on the left and add a new data source
3. Pick your data provider (I've picked database)
4. Set up your connection to connect to the database. I've just included the connection data in the application for the sake of simplicity
5. Choose the table you wish to bind to - this will be the 'metadata' table with your degrees
6. Finish the wizard, now in the datasources window you should have your table visible.
7. Drag the whole table onto the combobox
8. The program will assign the DisplayMember and ValueMember of the combobox automatically, you can modify it in the combobox properties - the ValueMember is the underlying identifier (the ID column) whereas the DisplayMember is the value you will actually see in the box
9. Repeat steps 1-6 to add your 'persons' table to the datasources window (you can use the same connection as you used before, you won't need to add another)
10. Once you have added the persons table, in the datasources window expand the persons table so you can see all of the actual columns of the table.
11. Find the column you will be binding to (the degree1 column for instance) and drag that onto the combobox.
12. Finished!
Of course you will need to make sure that a certain record from your persons table is selected as the datasource contains a record pointer - you can always drop a BindingNavigator control on there and associate it with the datasource but it does look a bit 'Microsoft Accesss' so I don't use them. To be honest, I am not happy with the NPR feature. Here is why: in the minds of most people, skilled immigrants just come here in masses, and within a blink of an eye, they get their green cards. They don't know how long and bothersome the way to an employment-based green card is. The feature focuses on letting more skilled immigrants come to the US, and having more green cards available without a mention of the problems with the current process. That means: they missed that we all are already here, and have been waiting for years to finally have our green card approved. I think it'll be misunderstood by all who don't know anything about the process. So in a way: this is an opportunity missed for disseminating more information about our situation. (Also, I bet that the picture posted was not taken at our rally.)

Hey All,
I am on H1B on Indian passport and my current H1B that is stamped on passport will expire on March 18, 2010.
Recently, I got my H1b visa extension until 2012.
I'm currently working for my end client "X" from last 2 years and H1b holder is company "Y".
I am planning to go to India first two weeks of February and return on 17th Feb from EWR and returning back to EWR.
I do hav an employment verification letter obtained from my manager at end client "X".
I am planning to do my visa stamping while in Mumbai. I have 4 questions :
1) Looking at the current scenario, where most of H1B stamping at Mumbai consulates are going through administrative process;
do you recommend me to go to Mumbai for new visa stamping ?
2) If I simply return on my current visa, will the officer at POE ask me - why I did not get new H1 stamped on passport when I have 30 days for current to expire ?
Any advice ????????
3) I have confirmed tickets for me, wife and kid to arrive at Newark. Do you guys think it is wise to change the aiport to some other airport ?
4) Do you think dropping the plans going to India is more feasible than dealing through points 1-3 above.
I need your advise as soon as you can. Please share with me your viewpoints in the best possible way.

I would like to know if this is possible while being on H1. I know i can apply for a part time program.. but I would like to pursue a full time MBA or would I have to convert to a F1 ?..
How about pursuing a full time MBA with EAD ( 485 PENDING)
I would like to plan for a future scenario, as I would definitely want to pursue a MBA. Can you guys shed some light on this topic ?

My wife just got her EAD yesteday and it was for 2 years. I am expecting mine today and I hope it will be for 2 years as well and interestingly, my I140 is still pending.
